This is a whole month dedicated to helping older pets find loving forever homes. Shelters and rescues across the country hope those looking to adopt a new furry friend will consider adding a senior pet to the family this month.

When looking for a new dog or cat to add to the family, most people are looking for a puppy or kitten and will over look the older pets. Did you know that Senior pets tend to spend the longest amount of time in shelters or rescues? Some of the benefits of adopting an older pet is that they are typically more calmer, have gone through the “puppy phase”, easier to train or better yet they are already trained.

Sadie’s Place Animal Rescue is a Christian based rescue dedicated to caring for homeless pets in our communities through adoptions, cruelty investigations, community awareness, fostering and caring for companion animals until loving homes can be found.

Named in memory of our beloved Black Lab, Sadie – a shelter dog who became a major part of our family until her death in 2012, we dedicate this mission in her memory. Our organization is totally run by folks who generously volunteer their time, homes and hearts in order to help.

Please help save the ones who can not save themselves – see our page at for details
